About Us

Dr Andrew Withers is a proud third generation dentist. His grandfather Hubert Withers and father John Withers practised in the Toowoomba QLD area for many years.

Andrew graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Dentistry in 1985. He went on to practise in Wimbledon, London before returning to Toowoomba QLD in 1990. Andrew is a self-confessed ‘study nerd’ having completed post-graduate studies in the areas of orthodontics and implantology. He has also completed his Diploma in Advanced Orthodontics with the International Medical College. Outside his practice, Andrew enjoys sport and keeping fit with his children.

Dr. Val graduated from the University of Queensland with first class honours. Her clinical experience in dentistry includes serving the population of Brisbane and Hervey Bay in the public health sector, as well as Gympie and Cooloola Cove regions in private clinics. She understands what a privilege it is to serve the local community and aims to treat all patients in their best interest for optimal long term oral health.

Dr. Val is careful to provide a comfortable and anxiety-free experience for patients of all ages and backgrounds. She has a special interest in looking after children as she strongly believes that early intervention and preventative maintenance from a young age would allow for optimal oral health into adulthood. She is competent in general dentistry and currently doing a  post-grad diploma course in orthodontics (conventional fixed braces and clear aligners).

Outside of dentistry, Dr. Val enjoys her time in running, dance, and pulling the perfect espresso for a long black.

Dr Rob Nagrath joined Withers Dental in 2024, bringing over 20 years of experience in dentistry. He holds a Master's of Clinical Dentistry with a specialization in Implantology from Griffith University, demonstrating his commitment to advanced dental care.

Rob has been a valued member of the Toowoomba community for the past 8 years, appreciating the welcoming spirit and relaxed atmosphere of the Garden City. He is passionate about creating beautiful smiles and providing high-quality care to his patients.
With a special interest in surgical extractions of wisdom teeth, Rob approaches this complex procedure with both enthusiasm and precision. He strives to ensure the best possible outcomes for his patients across all areas of general dentistry.

Rob is dedicated to staying current with the latest advancements in dental technology and techniques. He regularly participates in professional development courses to enhance his skills and knowledge.
Outside of the clinic, Rob enjoys listening to classic hits from the '70s and '80s and exploring the countryside on his road bike. His love for both music and outdoor activities reflects his well-rounded approach to life and work.

Dr William Tran graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from James Cook University. He previously provided dental health services in Far North Queensland and Central Australia, before deciding to relocate and share his experience at Withers Dental.

Martin and his family have recently moved to Toowoomba from Brisbane as they missed the country lifestyle and want to plant their feet, whilst being close to family long-term.

Martin is passionate about providing high-quality dental work that is patient-focused and is often complimented on his caring nature and compassion towards his patients. He takes time to listen and discuss treatment options so patients feel comfortable knowing they are in control of their dental experience.

Martin has worked privately in rural and regional areas throughout New South Wales, and more recently at Chermside Dental Care, a highly renowned family practice in Brisbane. Martin enjoys all general family dentistry, with the main focus being high-quality dental work, oral surgery, including dental implants, and full mouth rehabilitation cases.

Outside of dentistry, Martin enjoys cooking, touch football, tennis, travelling, live music, and most of all spending time with friends and family.

Amelia has been employed as a dental hygienist with the Withers Dental team since April 2014. She works alongside our dentists with a strong focus on dental disease prevention. Amelia also enjoys working with children, treating gum disease and conducting tooth whitening.

Amelia graduated with a Bachelor of Oral Health from the University of Otago, New Zealand in 2009. She also trained and worked as a dental assistant for two years.

Amelia helps patients to improve their overall dental health by tailoring preventive programs. As a dental therapist, Amelia works with children up to the age of 18 years. She uses a variety of techniques in a safe and caring environment and gives children the knowledge they need to care for their teeth throughout life.

In her free time Amelia enjoys travelling, hiking and horse riding.

Carly graduated from the University of Queensland – School of Dentistry with a Bachelor of Applied Health Science (Oral Health) in 2000. She has enjoyed working as an oral health therapist with the Withers Dental team since moving to Toowoomba in 2008.

Carly performs preventive maintenance (cleaning teeth) against conditions including gingivitis and periodontal disease. She also examines and completes dental work on children between the ages of four and 17. Carly has a passion for prevention and hopes to inspire her patients to take on board good oral health practices not just for their teeth, but for whole body health.

Carly is married and has a cuddly young daughter (who ironically hates having her teeth brushed!). She loves spending time in her garden and with her pets, and currently has a crochet addiction (among other crafty pursuits).

Therese Robbins graduated as a dental therapist from the School of Dental Therapy in Brisbane in 1984 and has a great deal of experience working with children of all ages. Therese completed the Academic Upgrade for Dental Therapists at the University of Queensland and the Queensland University of Technology in 2005. She most recently graduated with a Bachelor of Health Science in 2007. She has worked throughout south-east Queensland and is committed to continuing her education and training to provide her clients with professional, high quality and individual care.

Therese enjoys travelling, reading, crocheting and being with family in her spare time.

Kim completed her studies and graduated as a Dental Hygienist through Curtin University in Perth Western Australia in 2004. She is an experienced hygienist having worked in busy Perth practices for the last 15 years.

She believes dentistry should have a strong preventive focus, striving to educate and motivate her patients to improve their oral health. She enjoys working with people of all ages and believes dentistry should be delivered with a kind and gentle approach. She aims to make each appointment as comfortable as possible for all her patients.

Kim has recently relocated with her partner and now calls Toowoomba her new home. As newcomers to Queensland they have been enjoying their weekends exploring. Kim also likes to spend time in the kitchen baking and at her sewing machine making quilts.

Dell graduated with a Bachelor of Oral Health Therapy from Central Queensland University in Rockhampton. She developed a passion for oral health at the beginning of her dental career, starting as a dental assistant right here at Withers dental in 2011.

Dell is dedicated to providing the highest level of care to each client. As an Oral Health Therapist Dell has a particular focus in preventative care and oral health promotion. Dell looks forward to working with you to achieve and maintain oral health as an influential step toward general wellness.

During her time off, Dell enjoys spending time with family, camping and doing various crafts.
