Teeth can be genetically dark or discolour due to aging, smoking, eating and drinking tea, coffee, red wine and other strong coloured foods and beverages. Following a few simple guidelines, whitening will not harm your teeth or gums and significant lightening can be achieved in most cases.

Many people qualify for tooth whitening, however several variables can affect the outcome including the cause of the discolouration, the condition of the teeth and how closely the patient sticks to the maintenance plan. We offer complimentary whitening consultations to determine whether teeth are suitable for this treatment. It is not recommended for pregnant women and nursing mothers.

Withers Dental offers both Zoom! Advanced Power in-chair whitening and Zoom! NiteWhite home whitening kits.

Before And After Teeth Whitening

INSTANT IN-CHAIR WHITENING

The Zoom! Advanced Power in-chair whitening system is a leading professional option. A complimentary consultation is offered to assess suitability. If approved, photos and impressions are taken and personalised trays made. Soft tissues are covered before a strong whitening solution is applied to the teeth. The Zoom! Advanced Power lamp is used in four cycles of 15 minutes each. A complimentary mini home whitening kit is included. Our dentists and hygienists will explain how to maintain your new smile using the personalised home whitening trays. The result will be reviewed two weeks later.

HOME TEETH WHITENING

The Zoom! NiteWhite home whitening kit is a great option for those who would like to gradually brighten their teeth at home. Custom-made trays which look like thin, transparent mouth guards are fabricated and fitted. The whitening gel is then measured into the trays and placed over the teeth overnight, or for two to four hours a day for about two weeks. The progress will be reviewed two to three weeks after the home treatment is completed. We will also explain how to maintain your new whiter, brighter smile.

If you are considering tooth whitening, please contact us for a complimentary consultation with an oral health therapist.

Withers Dental offers a complimentary mini Zoom! NiteWhite Kit at the end of all Invisalign and braces services.

Please note: All invasive or surgical procedures carry risks.  Some people may not be suitable candidates for this procedure.  Your dentist will discuss all risks prior to commencing any treatment.

WHY CHOOSE TEETH WHITENING?

If you’re feeling self-conscious about your smile, it can seriously affect your self-esteem. One of the most common reasons our patients are unhappy with their teeth is because of discolouration. Discolouration can happen for many reasons; some people are just born with teeth that are naturally less white, while other teeth can become stained over time as a result of smoking cigarettes or drinking coffee. Teeth whitening offers a simple, straightforward solution that can provide long-lasting effects.

At Withers Dental, we work closely with all of our patients to develop treatment plans bespoke to their needs. If you’re looking for experienced, professional dentists to carry out teeth whitening that is effective and safe, contact us. HOW DOES TEETH WHITENING WORK?

At Withers Dental, we use Zoom! teeth whitening technology. This can be applied in our clinic for the fastest effects, or instead, patients can choose to use Zoom! at-home teeth whitening kits which will gradually whiten the teeth overnight using custom-fitted mouth trays.

Both of these methods are effective, and at Withers Dental our team of expert dentists can help you to decide on the right teeth whitening method for your goals and lifestyle.

Teeth Whitening Frequently Asked Questions

IS TEETH WHITENING SAFE?

When carried out by an experienced professional, teeth whitening is very safe. We only use teeth whitening systems that are clinically proven to work, and teeth whitening should not in any way affect existing restorations such as fillings, nor should it erode or damage the enamel of your teeth.

DOES TEETH WHITENING HURT?

Teeth whitening shouldn’t hurt, though some patients may experience some sensitivity or discomfort after the procedure which is expected since it is a cosmetic procedure. This should only last a few days at most.

IS PROFESSIONAL TEETH WHITENING BETTER THAN AT-HOME TEETH WHITENING?

When your teeth are whitened professionally by a dentist, your dentist will choose a whitening formula designed specifically for your teeth. This maximises the efficacy of professional teeth whitening, as well as ensures that your teeth are whitened using the safest possible formula for your teeth. Comparatively, over-the-counter teeth whitening products are less effective and carry more risks.

HOW LONG DO THE EFFECTS OF TEETH WHITENING LAST?

Teeth whitening is a quick and efficient way to make your teeth whiter in a single session, though over time the effects of teeth whitening can reduce, particularly if you drink coffee or smoke, or take part in other activities that might contribute to faster staining. However, this can be corrected at home using maintenance whitening kits, which we can provide you with.
