Carly provides comprehensive orofacial myofunctional therapy to address a wide range of orofacial disorders and conditions. She is experienced in evaluating and treating issues related to the muscles and functions of the face, mouth, and throat to promote optimal oral health and overall well-being.

What is Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy?

Orofacial myofunctional therapy (OMT) is a specialised form of therapy aimed at correcting improper oral muscle function and swallowing patterns. These improper habits can contribute to a variety of issues, including:

• Mouth breathing
• Thumb or finger sucking
• Tongue thrust
• Incorrect swallowing patterns
• Speech difficulties
• Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders
• Sleep-disordered breathing, such as snoring and sleep apnea

Carly thoroughly assesses each patient provides individualised treatment plans tailored to each patient’s unique needs and goals. Using a combination of exercises, techniques, and behavioural modifications, she guides the patient through work to retrain and strengthen the muscles of the face and mouth, promote proper oral posture, and improve swallowing function.
